Carol Hsu

Carol is a Wellbeing Engineer dedicated to relieving stress from daily life through mindful practices.  She especially loves making her practices in nature directly under the healing energy of the mother earth.

She was born in Taipei but grew up in California.  After working professionally as a chemical engineer in the fast-paced bay area for a Fourtune 500 company and experienced the effect of long-term high stress, she realized the importance of healing as part of her life purpose.  Then she spent almost the last decade traveling and living around the world learning different art of healing.  She has healed her irritable bowl syndrome through detoxing diets and yoga, and she has experienced deep and profound emotional healing through breathwork.

During Carol’s traveling around the world, she visited numerous modern mystics.  She also studied in a monastery following the Tibetan Buddhism tradition in Nepal, trained at Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Kerala , and regularly spent time in Osho commune.

Through her self-exploration journey in breathwork, she came to understand herself and other people in an energetic way.  It became her tool of transformation and a path of healing from trauma.  She has also experienced special and sacred connection with her lovers through practicing breathwork together.

Carol has a dream of co-creating and living in a community where sustainability and personal growth is the core value, as she loves sharing her transformative lifestyle that channels more happiness through yoga, breathwork, detox, and healing food.

Carol is a certified Breathwork Coach and Yoga Alliance Teacher and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical/ Biochemical Engineering.

She had volunteered at Nepal Education Initiative Organization for a compost toilet project and was a fellowship recipient at The Summer School on Energy “Giacomo Ciamician” in Italy.

Master Chang

Master Chang is a Chinese Kung-Fu Master who has been taking care of Gongnangong and Purple Cloud Temple for more than 40 years. Before that, he served as a personal bodyguard to President Chiang Ching-Kuo and spent time in the US.

He is a Master in Chi-Cultivation, which clearly shows in both his physical and his energy body. His kind, gentle and joyful nature is a true delight. He does not consider himself a Master. Retreat participants may ask him for a personal Chi-adjustment session during the retreat, if they feel called to.

This, however, is not part of the retreat and by individual choice on the day. An extra donation to the temple is much appreciated, if you choose to receive a Chi-adjustment of your body.
